Movie Info

Manoranjan(Kamal Haasan) is a huge movie star who is loved by the masses. He leads a controversial life and hides it from his fans. One fine day, he comes to know that he has brain tumour and is going to die soon.

A disappointed Manoranjan decides to make the most of his remaining time by acting in one last film. He approaches his mentor Margadarshi(K Balachander) and requests him to direct his last film. A prestigious project called Uttama Villain is launched and rest of the story is as to whether Manoranjan completes the film and fulfils his final desire.

Awesomeness to the core....actually it depends on the people, how they take the movie, how they understand this movie. Both characters of kamal hassan playing 2 characters in 2 different dimensions made it more real and soulful....

Excellent movie by Kamal Sir. His acting was so real that in the, we forget that it's a movie and start believing things. Esp in 2nd half. Though I'm a guy, made me cry twice in the second half. The story teaches us to accept death also as a part of our life.

Uttama Villain is a terrific take on super stardom and mortality. When Kamal comes to know that he has only few days to live, he wants make a film in which he's immortal. Music of the film is good with voice of Kamal adding to the magic. Another solid performance from Kamal and a must watch for Kamal fans.

Screen play is very slow and film contains many emotional moments so hold on with patience. Overall the movie is okay.
