Sunita lives with her mother and older sister Uma who is a cripple. Uma is of marriageable age but due to her handicap prospective marriage offers get cancelled or ask for huge dowry. Frustrated Uma tries to commit suicide but Sunita saves her at the very last moment. Sunita's best friend, Asha requests Sunita to impersonate her in front of her childhood fiance Suresh so that he cancels their impending marriage. Meanwhile, Asha loves another man called Ashok. Asha also helps Sunita financially so that she can cure her crippled sister. Will Sunita be successful in impersonating Asha? Will Suresh find out about Sunita's true identity?
