A young woman moves to Canada with her boyfriend to get married with the help of her friend, but finds herself trapped in a web of lies and deciet.
Nethraa feels like three films rolled into one. The first act resembles a mystery like The Lady Vanishes... Nethraa (Subhiksha) and her boyfriend Velu (Thaman) elope to Canada where their friend Vikram (Vinay) lives. But soon, Velu goes missing and Nethraa is told that she had come to the country alone. But before we begin to get in involved in this mystery, the film reveals what's happening and then, turns into a revenge thriller, with one of these characters being trapped in a secret room just next to where the other characters live (like in Murder 3, which was inspired from the Colombian thriller The Hidden Face). But the film doesn't really give us the suspense that such films generate. Instead, it quickly morphs into a horror thriller like Don't Breathe, where the lead characters have to outwit a cunning villain who cannot see. But even these portions lack any edge-of-the-seat thrills.
