Actress Shriya is all set to be seen as a prostitute in the movie ‘Pavitra’and this is the first poster of the movie. The film will be directed by Janardhana Maharshi and Adesh films banner will be producing it. Shriya is now looking towards stories with meaty roles and the change in her attitude came about after working for ‘Midnight’s Children’. Shriya will be seen in a bold role in this movie, say the makers.
She is also busy with the shooting of a period film in Kannada titled Chandra.

Srinu Vaitla, the director of Badshah is leaving no stone unturned to make the movie bigger and bigger. Sources close to the movie unit told us that the director is planning to rope in a spicy Brazilian model to shake hips for an item number for the movie. Thaman had already composed the superb tune for the song and it will be canned very soon. The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shooting activity by February and release the audio in the first week of March and movie will hit the screens on March 28th.
NTR and Kajal are playing the lead roles. Navdeep and Kelly Dorjee will be seen in negative roles in this action entertainer. Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat are writing the script along with Sreenu Vaitla. Thaman is composing the music. The entire film unit is confident that the film is going to be a massive blockbuster.

Tollywood's most successful director Rajamouli turns into a TV anchor, to interview Kamal Haasan, whom he adores for his unique movies & experiments. It was a dream come true of sorts for S S Rajamouli when he met Kamal Haasan, who was in Hyderabad for the audio launch of Vishwaroopam. Rajamouli was one of the guests at the audio launch and later it the ace director got an opportunity to interview the legendary actor. “WHAT A WAY TO END THE YEAR.. Interviewed KAMAL HASSAN!! the man who breathes and lives films…. it was a pleasure sir! I must say I sat and listened to him speak rather than interviewing him… star struck…..:),” he posted on Twitter. This interview will be aired soon on MAA TV.Vishwaroopam will be distributed in AP by Dasari Narayana Rao and it has been written, produced and directedby Kamal Haasan. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah and Rahul Bose in lead roles. The music has been scored by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
'Vishwaroopam' Has Censored & To Be Released On 11th January

Kamal Haasan’s latest experiment, Vishwaroopam has now finished its censor formalities and obtained an U/A Certificate. The film was much in news because of its satellite premiere even before its theatrical release.
In another important news, clearing all the rumors and controversies the film is set for release on the 11th of Jan. Siri Media, which is owned by Dasari, has persuaded Kamal to release the movie on 11th January. The movie has Rahul Bose, Shekar Kapur and Pooja Kumar in major roles.

The Veteran, critically acclaimed director and one of the doyens of parallel cinema in India, Shyam Benegal is going to be conferred with the prestigious ANR National Award this year. Shyam Benegal had made several award winning films like Ankur, Nishant, Manthan, Bhumika and Mandi. He has already been conferred with titles like Padma Sri, Padma Bhushan and for the year 2005, he was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He also directed a Telugu film titled Anugraham which had Vani Sri in lead role.
At a press meet held earlier today in Annapurna Studios, Akkineni Nageshwara Rao and T Subbarami Reddy announced that Shyam Benegal is going to be conferred with ANR National Award on January 27 in Hyderabad. The award was instituted by Akkineni International Foundation in 2005 to honour those who had dedicated their life to cinema. In the past, Hema Malini, Balachander, Vijayanthimala, Dev Anand and Lata Mangeshkar had received this award.

According to some sources, the Government of Andhra Pradesh will be giving a go ahead for the long awaited ticket price hike. While the Government may spare the lower class audience, the ticket price for the higher class in Air cooled theaters is now reportedly increased from 60 to 75. The Government may even also allow theater managements to hike the ticket prices to 100 on Fridays, Saturdays Sundays and other festival days, which is seen only in cities like Bagalore till now. A new G.O. will be issued regarding the same very soon and the new system will come in to force from Sankranthi season. It was told that the pressure of producers like Allu Aravind and Dil Raju through Chiranjeevi had worked on the Government.On the other hand, small movie producers are worried about this new pricestructure. Also there is an impending threat of increase in piracy which may arise, it has to be seen how it is tackled. Let's see how true the rumours are & the affect, if something like this happens, on the tollywood.

Mega Power Star Ram Charan's upcoming movie, Nayak is making loud bangs every where. While the movie is smashing all the pre-release records in AP, things were not any different in Bollywood. The satellite rights for the Hindi dubbed version of Naayak had reportedly fetched a whopping Rs 3.5 crore which is the highest so far for any Telugu movie. The movie is all set to hit the screens in record number of theaters from January 9th. Currently, the last minute post production activity is going on.On the flip side, this will be a major boost for Ram Charan who is going to make his entry in to Bollywood early next year. with the remake of Amitab Bachchan's ZanjeerKajal Agarwal and Amala Paul play female leads in Nayak. Charmme did an item song. VV Vinayak directed Naayak and DVV Danayya is producing this film on Universal Media banner. Thaman has composed music for the movie.
