Maha Samudram (2021)
Arjun (Sharwanand) and Vijay (Siddharth) appear to be all-weather friends. The latter is an orphan, while the former has a doting mother. Vijay is in love with a dance teacher named Maha (Aditi Rao Hydari) and is an aspiring Sub-Inspector of Police. He wants to make money through unscrupulous means after becoming an SI. Arjun is slowly falling in love with Smitha (Anu Emmanuel). This is when something unforeseen happens involving Dhanunjay (Ramachandra Raju), a notorious don in Vizag. What follows next is an unexpected drama involving Arjun, Vijay, Maha, Chunchu Mama (Jagapathi Babu as Arjun’s trusted buddy) and Gooni Babji (Rao Ramesh as Dhanunjay’s elder brother). .

Maha Samudram` is a lavishly Made Romantic Actioner which aims to ride on the emotions of its lead characters but falters to evoke them in a convincing enough manner, leaving the audiences disconnected. The film’s core plot is time tested but needed an engrossing treatment, emotional highs with convincing subplots. But Instead it turned out to be a way below-par experience with amateurish narration which neither satisfies the masses nor critics..

Maha Samudram ‘ has multiple positive factors if we measure those independently but, the overall impact is not that great due to poorly executed final portions of the film. Sharwanand, Jagapathi Babu Deliver rock-solid performance. Overall, the festive season in Telugu states might help this film to stand as an average fare at the Box-office. Those who like commercial potboilers can give it a try watching ‘Maha Samudram’..

On the whole, Maha Samudram does not live up to the hype created. The film has an impressive backdrop and scope for solid drama but they are not utilized well. Considering the good star cast and sincere performances, this film can be given a shot this festive season. But go in with your expectations in check..
