Pelli Pustakam (2013) Hero Rahul and heroine Niti are cross cousins (bava maradallu). There is a tradition in their family. They don’t marry their children out of family. All marriages are performed between cross cousins. In accordance with the tradition Rahul and Niti’s marriage is proposed. But Rahul and Niti are not interested in each other. But family head Nagineedu plays heart attack drama and marries them. As Niti is not interested in this marriage, Rahul lonely completes honeymoon. Niti falls in love with another guy Cherry. Though Niti and Rahul start a new home and married life, they don’t get along with each other well and keep quarreling like Tom and Jerry. But Rahul slowly starts liking Niti. But Niti is in Cherry’s spell. Rahul wants to win Niti’s heart and start their married life at any cost. To achieve that, he joins as lecturer in Niti’s college. What happens in the college and whether Rahul wins his wife’s heart forms rest of the story..

As actors, both Rahul Ravindran and Niti Tayor slip into their tailor-made roles. The director could, however, have etched Niti's role to suit her character. Sometimes, it appears she is too young to realise what she is getting into and at other times she.

This new age Pelli pustakam is miles and miles away from the original. Except in title it is no way a match to yesteryear hit. The movie makers insulted ‘Pelli pustakam’ title..
