Entertainment (2014) Starring Akshay Kumar and Junior, the "wonder dog" whose wonders are limited to walking, sitting, barking and pressing a switch, Entertainment is the story of a canine Paris Hilton. He's pretty, vacuous, wears bling and has inherited a lot of money which makes him the target of fortune hunters. That's Junior, not Kumar, by the way. When the Bangkok-based multi millionaire Panna Lal Johri dies, he leaves everything to his dog, Entertainment (Junior). One of the people who wants Entertainment's inheritance for himself is Akhil (Kumar), a Mumbai-based "struggler" whose girlfriend's father is insistent that she will only marry a crorepati. Also coveting Entertainment's newly-inherited empire are Karan (Prakash Raj) and Arjun (Sonu Sood), Panna Lal's second cousins. The humans go after the dog. The dog does a couple of ridiculous things like wear a hoodie and walk on a treadmill. Most of the time, however, the dog is either sitting motionless or lying down, which, in all fairness, is an understandable reaction to what passes for humour in Entertainment. .

Entertainment is a painful exercise to sit through and when a cute retriever with all the fuzziness cannot retrieve you from boredom, blame it on the film. Akshay Kumar was almost as bad as his Once Upon Aye Time In Mumbaai Dobaara performance, and that s.

Sajid-Farhad’s first film is mostly a garrulous, occasionally comical farce that intermittently serves as reminder that in the search of “entertainment, entertainment, entertainment” one can always rely on the delightfully loony Johnny Lever..

The dog scores over the rest of the cast because the animal does not have any dialogue to deliver nor any song to swing to. If this is entertainment, what, pray, is torture? Run for cover..

However, there are a few bone-s to be picked with the directors... We know dogs love meat but close ups of the 'king of hams', Prakash Raj while he's contorting his face is not really a great watch. Too much melodrama in the second half slows down the p.

Akshay Kumar is in top form. Having done a multitude of masala movies, he's become a khiladi. His bonding with the dog (especially in comic scenes) has those 'oh-so-cute' moments. The golden retriever is not a wonderful actor; but his eyes can melt your h.
