Mukunda (2014) Mukunda (Varun Tej), a good Samaritan, helps his friend in eloping with his friend’s girl friend, who in turn is a sister of local corrupt municipal chairman (Rao Ramesh). Arjun is always on run to escape from Rao Ramesh’s brothers, and Mukunda always there to rescue him from the goons. In this process of helping his friend’s love, Mukunda gets attracted Pooja Hegde who is younger daughter of Rao Ramesh. Once again election time arrives, Mukunda spoils Rao Ramesh’s plans and makes Prakash Raj nominee for the ward elections. Then this tends to climax. Will Arjun marry his girl friend? Will Prakash win over Rao Ramesh? forms the rest of the storyline..

Sans loudness and crassness, Mukunda has a scent of SVSC. But it lacks a good story and barring less than four scenes, it hardly has anything to keep up our interest..

On the whole, Mukunda is an ok launch pad for Varun Tej. This handsome mega family hero has good screen presence and is set for a bright future in Tollywood. But other factors like lack of comedy, entertainment and romance limit Varun’s debut to an exte.

Apart from impressive scenes between the Hero and Villain, there is nothing else in Mukunda to keep the audience hooked. Hero and Heroine never talks in this film but still, they are in love with each other. Call it a variety or madness, the romantic trac.

ommercially, ‘Mukunda’ would be a dampener in lower class centres. Their wait to see Varun Tej gave an unpleasant result. In metros and ‘A’ class areas, we need to wait and see..

Mukunda is a very serious drama with lots and lots of action, which seems pointless after some time. There is not a single scene where the protagonist is put to test. Director should have at least concentrated more on the hero, villain tussle when he is n.
