Critic Review
Romeo (2014) Samantha (Adonika Rodricks), a travel-buff, a free spirit who lives for the moment and the highs from arriving at new places. This is her life’s philosophy. She meets Kittu (Sairam Shankar) at Rome coliseum. Over the course of their travel, Kittu gets closer to Samantha. But things start falling apart, when Samantha reveals the truth about her boyfriend Rakesh (Subbaraj) in New York and Kittu steals her passport. She tends to return back home, but she need the passport, which she don’t have. Later, Samantha chances upon Kittu and takes his help to fly away from Rome to Verona. Romeo takes a mysterious turn here. Audiences then get captivated with the questions such as – Why she is so inclined towards Kittu? Why did Kittu come to Italy? After some twists and turns in Verona story finally settles down and then there is a happy ending..

However, the film is wonderful tour guide for Rome and Verona cities. Barring that, there is no interesting aspect to this Romeo. So, if you want to enjoy the vistas, then it is alright. But if you want to enjoy a good love story, then you are bound to be.

Wait for more, when the guy literally forces her to hug him in the most-forced 'Happy Ending' sequence at an airport, where he talks the need of 'transit time' in shifting boyfriends. We hear a background score, so 'wannabe' to the senses, resembling 'Ye .

While the movie had the backing of Puri Jagannadh in the form of story and dialogue writing, it could not get the pump that was actually needed. The story appeared to be conveniently based on Puri’s prior ventures – Heart Attack, Nenu Na Rakshasi, and.

Except the production standards and capitalizing on Italy tourism, there is nothing substantial to flex on viewers attention. With entry of Raviteja and other characters, second half was made a little entertaining else this is a refuse. All in all, ‘Rom.

At Box Office, 'Romeo' mayn't even recover at least 1/4th of its production cost and Sairam Shankar's disaster streak continues. Verdict: Could Be Avoided!.

On the whole, there was a reason why Puri Jagannadh didn’t try to release Sairam Shankar’s Romeo on his own banner and left it languishing in cans for years. Stay away from it, as it has nothing to offer in the theatre or on DVD..
