Lingaa (2014) Lingeswara (Rajinikanth) plays the scion of a royal family who returns to India after getting ICS studies in England. British appoint him as a collector to Singanoor. The drought situations and the water scarcity move him to the core and he plans to build a dam with the help of Britishers. But things turn around and he resigns his post as collector. Later, King of Gadwal Lingeswara plans to build Singanoor dam with his own expense and with the help of Singanoor villagers. With huge struggle and pressures he completes building the dam. Due to a major misunderstanding Lingeswara leaves the place and villagers lock the temple. After 70 years, Kasi Viswanath makes villagers realize the importance of reopening the Temple with the descendant of Lingeswara. Who is Lingeswara’s heir? Will he help the troubled villagers? forms the rest of the story..

Rajnikanth movies are known for creating magic on screen with nice story and punch dialogues. Though the intention is to create a good content, the magic in Lingaa is missing. Plus points of the film are Rajinikanth, dialogues and characterization of Ling.

Overall, the film works due to the Rajini factor and the pace leaving no dull moment. At the box office, the openings will be heavy and if word of mouth goes well then it would become a blockbuster..

All in all, ‘Lingaa’ is a tailor made film to attract Rajini Fans. The sketch is old and Rajini is forever new. It’s a typical Super Star package. Keep the expectations low and you might have good time in theater. For Fans, this can be a good meal t.

The Tamil audiences might simply love the film for the simple reason that they get to see Rajinikanth in flesh and blood after a very long time. But one is not sure as to how the Telugu audiences will react to the dubbed version which is reminiscent of ma.

If you are a true fan of Rajinikanth, the movie might disappoint you a bit, by its simple story. But, Lingaa has all the elements which you expect from Super Star Rajinikanth and as it is his Birthday gift, you can watch it for sure..

'Lingaa' is certain to take an earth-shattering opening as advance booking for the Weekend has been fantastic. In all possibility, It is expected to be biggest opener ever for a South Indian Film. But, Will that be enough to rewrite 'Robo' records?.

All in all, Rajinikanth performance and great locales can only hold your attention for a while. The story doesn’t progress at a pace it needs to, you will find yourself shifting in your seat, waiting for the sobbing pre-independence flashback to end. Is.

With Lingaa, it is once again proved that fans just love Rajini’s screen presence and adore him completely. Entertaining first half and a rocking performance by Rajini are the major assets. But a very long and lackluster second half spoils the fun compl.
