Critic Review
Akhil (2015) Akhil (Akhil Akkineni) a happy-go-lucky guy falls in love with Medical Student Divya (Sayessha Saigal). To impress her, Akhil teams up with K V Rajendra Prasad (Rajendra Prasad) and tries to impress her family. But things turn around and Sayesha ends up in Europe. Earlier, a German Scientist Kathrochi tries to get hold of Jua (which stops Global Catastrophe from powerful UV rays) and pen to rule the world with its supernatural powers. At this time, Mambo kidnaps Sayesha as she treats a wounded tribal lad with Jua’s information. Rest of the story is predictable, about how Akhil teams up with Johnson & Johnson (Brahmanandam) to save Divya and save earth from catastrophe on a solar eclipse day..

The film has to cash in on as much as it can in this Weekend. VV Vinayak has a Strong Reputation at the Box-office. But this looks unlikely to live up to that and might end up as a Failure. Bottom Line : Over Ambitions gone awry..

All in all, Akhil is show reel movie of Akhil’s dancing skills. Other than that it offers only boredom, nothing else. Bottomline: Dance Baby Dance.

Even though Akhil performed well, he has to improve a lot. The story of the film has failed to impress the audience. It has garnered mixed reviews from them. Even though the first half is good, the slow-paced narration in the second half kills the interes.

Akhil was the only saving grace of this otherwise third degree torture. He is spontaneous, energetic and futuristic star. He carries the entire film on his shoulders and entertains the audience in his sphere of role. Can give it a watch for the Akkineni s.

Akhil showcases Akhil Akkineni's strengths well but the movie has weak output by Vinayak. For the fans of Akkineni family, the movie may seem okay. For others it doesn't work. Watch the movie for Akhil’s stunning dances only..

Irrespective of the commercial verdict which needs no mathematical formulae and power of Jua to interpolate, Cinejosh grossly feels sorry for Akkineni Akhil’s poor debut and rates the film with 2 stars. Akhil Cinejosh Verdict: Deplorably Disastrous D.

On the whole, Akhil is a decent launch pad for the Akkineni scion. He is exceptional with his dances and gives an all round performance in his debut film. Interesting premise and some good songs are basic assets. But a below par narration, outdated second.

A socio-fantasy that could have been saved from seeming like a half-baked attempt at delivering half-hearted heroism. Akhil's reasonably good debut is all that is there for Akkineni fans..
