Critic Review
Size Zero (2015) Directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, Size Zero is about Soundharya (Anushka Shetty) an obese youth from a middle class family likes Abhi (Arya) from the first instance. The happy go lucky Soundarya works in a local Chinese fast food center Chungkung Express. She is a foodie to the core for which she gets univocal support from the grandfather played by Gullapudi Maruthi Rao. Her partner in crime Jyothi (Pavani Gangireddy), a wannabe model for whom Sweety is the only person she can completely depend on when she is in trouble. The conflict quotient apart from food comes in the form of mother (Urvasi), who coerces Sweety to join Size Zero Slimming Centre run by Satyanand (Prakash Raaj). This suave trainer turns out to be a villain for the roly-poly customers, who use “Different Drugs” to burn fat and causes unnecessary health issues. And like all fairytales, rest of the Size Zero is all about “If your goal is common good of the people then you can achieve unprecedented success”..

Director Prakash Rao who debuted with Anangana O Dheerudu has proved again that he has visual flair but has no grip on narration. Writer Kanika's script lacks dum. Music is another big letdown. The movie has excessive runtime. Bottomline: Anuksha's Sho.

It is all about being happy and is more important than size zero. Though the proceedings move at a slow pace, Anushka’s mesmerising performance and the sublime humour made the film entertaining. A clean entertainer that can be watched with the entire fa.

Despite wonderful making values, rich visuals and superb portrayal of central character from Anushka, we at Cinejosh rate ‘Size Zero’ with 2.5 stars for a very feeble, disoriented narration. Size Zero Cinejosh Verdict: Just For Anushka and PVP Maki.

Size Zero had the potential to be a promising film but the second half turned out to be the worst nightmare. Wish the director has put in half the efforts and hard work that Anushka has put into this film. Verdict: Sweety Shines But The Film Doesn't..

Already Allari Naresh's Kitakitalu like films have handled this obese concept quite well, while Size Zero just has fat-Anushka. Final words: Heavy weight flaws and zero-size thrill.
