Soukhyam (2015) A jobless – reckless - careless Srinivas (Gopichand) is pampered “young”ster in the family consisting of parents and a set of uncle suffering from rare amnesia and an aunt. One fine day, Shailaja (Regina) enters Sreenu’s life and in a short time he proposes her. But things fall apart when Shailu challenges Sreenu’s destiny angle. Slowly but surely, Shailu falls in love with Sreenu. However, the obstacle in the story comes in the form of Shailaja’s father PR (Rajan) when he and his goons come and take her away with them. On the other hand, unknowingly Sreenu promises Bavuji (Pradeep Rawat) to bring back PR’s daughter for him. Shockingly, Shailu turns out to be the daughter of PR and now he has to save Shailu from the clutches of Bavuji-PR and also ensure that she is not forcibly married to anyone. Following the “Ready”made formula, Sreenu introduces Shailu to his weird family. Will she succeed in impressing Sreenu’s family? What happens when Shailu-Sreenu’s family exposed to truth? Do now Bavuji & PR go after Sreenu’s life? The latter part of the film answers these questions..

Soukhyam feels like downright crass after watching the same predictable drama a thousand times by now in Telugu films. We doubt even if the people who love mere comedy entertainers would enjoy this film, which failed to serve any purpose.

Verdict: Sreedhar Sipana's story is half-baked, AS Ravikumar Chowdary's direction has lacunae and sans any saving grace, the film refuses to come out of the 'soukhyam'-zone..

All in all, after delivering a hit with Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham, director A S Ravi Kumar Chowdhary looked for his soukyam that leaves audiences in kashtam and dukham. Bottomline: Uncomfortable comedy!.

Overall Soukyam treads on tried and tested storyline interlaced with not so good comedy. There is barely anything that entertains here and it ends up being a yawn.

With Kona Venkat and Gopimohan as dialogue writers, expecting a big twist is a twist, because giving a new twists is never in the twisted diary of these writers. Forget the film, and go watch Ready or Venky if you want. Final words: Waste of valuable t.

From any basic standards set in industry, ‘Soukhyam’ cannot be called a feature film. Irrespective of any centre value, this movie is eligible to be declared as atrociously disastrous. Cinejosh is here to discourage this sort of a movie with 1.75 star.

There is not a single moment to cherish about this film. All that you can do is to wait for the film to end or either give up mid way and walk out of the door. This will go down as one of the worst movies of the year. Even the comedy scenes will bore you .

On the whole, Soukhyam is one of the most routine and cleashed films which has come out in the recent past. Even though the makers have tried hard to induce some commercial elements and comedy, nothing seems to work and the movie falls flat in every depar.

You would understand if amateurs were at work here, but the screenplay is by Kona Venkat - Gopi Mohan and actors of the caliber of Gopichand, Mukesh Rishi, Pradeep Rawat and Rajan have agreed to do this film. And yet, it decocts to one of the most claptra.
