Tuntari (2016) “Tuntari” kicks off as a group of friend’s pen to enjoy their weekend in forest, only to come across a holy man. Kishore (Vennela Kishore) asks the holyman for a blessing, which ironically turns out to be paper on the day after Dusherra. While going through the paper, they comes some personal incidents which are about to take place in next 4 months. One of them is about local Tuntari Raju (Nara Rohit) winning boxing competition and dedicating Rs. 5Crs to his friends. At the meantime, he falls in love with Siri (Latha Hedge) and too woo his love interest, Raju decides to become a professional boxer. The rest of the story is about how Kishore and friends meet Raju, his love interest Siri and checkout prophecy thereafter is what Tuntari all about..

Even though the film is titled as Tuntari, the director tried to focus much on Boxing adding few comedy to it. However, there is nothing much interesting aspect in the story. It is just an average film, with little entertainment..

Verdict: A very good story. A film that has Nara Rohit shedding his intensity to do comedy, even while he gets emotional in the climax. The screenplay could have been tighter, though..

In totality, ‘Thuntari’ had its own advantageous first half and poorly executed second half. It’s time for Rohit to keep an ear for critics’ word and cut down the flab as quickly as possible. All in all, this is a better film for Rohit relative to.

For the first time, Nara Rohit chooses an entertaining role and manages to impress supremely well. His comical performance and carefree attitude evokes good fun during the first half which is the basic asset of Tuntari. But a slightly mediocre second half.
