Savitri (2016) Savitri (Nanditha) is mad about weddings. She wants get married to anybody as she is dying to see her own marriage ceremony. When her elder sister gets married, her father (Murali) and uncle (Ajay) start searching for an alliance. And they come to know that a doctor is good match for her and ask him to see his daughter. On the happy mood, Savitri heads to Shirdi by train from Vishakapatnam. On the train she meets a guy Rishi (Nara Rohit) who is a doctor and he falls in love with her immediately. She doesn't encourage his love tease but has soft corner for him. When he proposes her seriously, she rejects him and heads to her home. Then the drama moves to her home..

The first half of the movie is completely laced with humour and it was so crisp. The screenplay was also engaging. But right from interval twist, everything is expected and second half mostly is filled with melodramatic scenes. Most of the scenes are a re.

Overall, ‘Savithri’ could have been a better film from Rohit in recent times. However, a badly executed second half pulls the graph very low and down. If one can welcome formulaic commercial ingredients without any complaints, ‘Savithri’ can be pa.

On the whole, Savitri is a film which is high on family emotions. Although, the film feels dragged at most places and story is ages old, the lead cast and overall theme manages to provide just about ok entertainment and can be given a shot if you have abs.

Director focused upon the comedy but Savitri only offers occasional laughs. The script and treatment is too old that it gets boring as it moves forward. Rohith is clearly trying to break from the routine. However his real strength lies in the serious cine.
