Police (policeodu - 2016) Joseph Kuruvilla, his little daughter Nainika, and their assistant Rajender live in small peaceful village in Kerala. The father and daughter duo are best friends. Joseph runs a bakery there, and wakes up late every morning, thus making little nainika late for her school. Her teacher is Miss Anne ( Amy Jackson). She starts to develop a soft corner for this father daughter duo.  After a small scuffle between students, Anne tries to chide Nainika about fighting in school, but instead gets into a fight with a few local goons. These rowdies later attack Anne and Nainika when they are on their way to school. A police complaint lodged reveals that Joseph Kuruvilla is actually Vijay Kumar, a former DCP in Tamil Nadu. The flashback reveals that Vijay Kumar was a very powerful police officer, who was known for his honesty and sincerity. He works very hard to save the law and order, and his Commissioner, Prabhu (in special appearance) supports him everything that he does. When a girl gets brutally raped by a powerful minister’s (Played by director Mahendran) son, Vijay and his team find the culprit and kill him. Meanwhile he meets Mithra, a medico, and they both fall in love instantly. What happens to Mithra? Who exactly is Nainika, and why did Vijay become Joseph? The answers to all these questions lie in watching the movie!.

First half of the film is nice. Second half is more commercial and becomes tedious towards climax. Though it has some nice moments and sensible aspects, it ends up playing to the galleries with action orientation. Plus points are Vijay and family emotions.

Director wasted a lot of time on buildup shots and hero elevations that he had to fast forward the plot during the final scenes. This film may appeal to Vijay fans as the director has penned few scenes exclusively for them. There is nothing special about .

Atli kumar seems concentrated only on screen presence of Vijay than story. It is a quite regular story that police officer loses his family due to villain, takes revenge on them. There is nothing new in the story..

Even though Police is a hugely predictable film from the word go, elements like Vijay’s performance, Samantha’s lovable character and some commercial thrills will keep you interested in the proceedings. Vijay’s fans would have loved his role in Tami.

'Police' is a passable fare with no noteworthy storyline. Weak second half is big minus. It is rehashed version of Rajinikanth's 'Baasha' with no gripping narration..
