Jai Simha (2018) Narasimha(Balakrishna) along with his just-born son moves to Kumbakonam and starts working as a driver. There, he comes across a corrupt cop and keeps fighting with him time and again. During one of the key problems involving the cop, Narasimha suddenly comes across his wife Gauri(Nayanthara) who is none other than his ex-girlfriend. Who is this Narasimha? What is his backstory with Gauri? Why did he come to Kumbakonam? To know the answers, you need to watch the film on the big screen..

In totality, Jai Simha is targeted mainly at NBK Fans. Inspite of popular content presented multiple times on Balakrishna, this time drama and sentiment took driver’s seat in aheavy second half. Commercial result depends more on how B, C centre viewers.

Overall, “Jai Simha” is as predictable as any mass movie, as old fashioned as the movie’s archaic storyline, and the narration is as clichéd as K S Ravikumar’s recent movies. Some episodes may appeal to Balakrishna’s fans and audiences in B .

The story by M.Ratnam is already outdated, and Ravikumar's poorly written screenplay and characterizations reminiscent of Balaiya's very own Simha and Narasimha Naidu, with typical cliched scenes and boring punches, besides the extreme drags in the second.

Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’ is a typical mass-masala movie with old-style narrative and clichéd sequences. Some episodes in the first half hold interest though. This is strictly for Balayya’s fans and lovers of old-style masala movies.

Jai Simha is a much better movie from Balakrishna in recent times apart from Krish’s GPSK. Fans and Masses will embrace it. However, with its old school treatment, it alienates class and youth audience. As there is no much competition for Sankranthi sea.

On a whole, Jai Simha is a disappointing film from the veteran superstar that may appeal to his diehard fans and the B and C centers audience. Moderate costs and festival period should help it on the commercial front. Verdict: Sentiment Simham!.
