It has got different yet engaging concept. Car acting weird is a concept that is never touched on Telugu screen as the main plotpoint (last such scene I remember in Telugu films was the cellar scene in second half of Arundhati where a car tries to jump ah.

Taxiwaala works in parts, largely thanks to a wonderful performance from Vijay Deverakonda, but the film veers away from Vijay and his character in the second half, tying itself up in knots. A weak climax and patchy narration derails an otherwise entertai.

All in all, Taxiwala is an attempt on novel concept of Astral Projection but mal-treated on old Maruthi lines. There is no quality comedy or admissible frills or justifiable concept elevation in the end, definitely an easy to forget film for Vijay Deverak.

Overall, the movie is definitely a onetime watch for the fans of comedy thrillers. Semi horror comedy works out well. Vijay performance is top notch and he is not at all in the shell. You will see different Vijay here in the movie unlike his rowdy boy’s.

It is a simple film that sticks to the basics and doesn't go off track at any point. It never gets boring in spite of the absence of Vijay for a long flashback sequence. However, the director's inexperience is shown in the second half where he loses grip .

Despite a crisp 2 hours and 12 minutes runtime, Taxiwaala is a dampener due to the uninteresting proceedings, and the cliched screenplay and the lack of proper commercial elements like comedy and peppy songs (except for Maate Vinadhuga, none impress), fur.
