Happy Wedding (2018) Anand(Sumanth Aswin) and Akshara(Niharika) are a couple who decide to take their relationship to the next level by getting married. But, certain issues leave Akshara confused as she feels that she is doing a wrong thing by getting married in a hurry. This causes a lot of disturbance between the couple and slowly the family members also get involved. Rest of the story is as to how the lead pair solve their issues and understand the importance of marriage.

Though it’s a remake of a Marathi blockbuster Mumbai Pune Mumbai 2, Happy Wedding is a risky film to make despite being in salable genres like romance and family drama because the entire film revolves around a wafer-thin subject. The director has succee.

Happy Wedding’ is a clean family film with sensible,natural story line and dialogues. Niharika Konidela is the USP of the casting, Sumanth Ashwin shows improvement. On flip side, slow narration and preachy tone at times may limit this film’s box-offic.

On the whole, Happy Wedding is a passable family drama which showcases a contemporary theme which is synonymous with the current generation. The emotions work well but the film takes its own time to register as the film has a set up of urban relationships.
