Nota (2018)
Vasudev ( Nasser ) , the chief minister of Telangana state , is a hero turned politician. He makes son Mr. Varun ( Vijay Deverakonda) as proxy CM on the advice of a Swami Ji. After Vasudev goes to jail on corruption charges, the responsibility of running the state remains with Varun who is a novice in politics. Rest of the story is all about the hurdles Varun encounters as CM.

NOTA’ is a political thriller that has scenes and situations that are in no way related to Telugu politics. This may work in Tamil but it may not interest the Telugu audience at all. Vijay Deverakonda shines, but the film is not engaging..

While the first half begins on a leisurely pace, the movie gains momentum towards interval, and post interval moves at breakneck pace, and with Vijay Deverakonda and Nasser competing with each other, and Sam CS's finely elevating BGM, and splendid cinemat.

There is a heroine for the sake of it. All Mehreeen gets is a couple of scenes where she is not even seen romancing Vijay. Even the songs are party songs that don't add any value to the film. There are a couple of flashback scenes on Satya Raj and Nasser .

All in all, NOTA is a pretty average film with good performances from four lead actors. Vijay Deverakonda again proved that he can justifiy on any given character. He delivered best when it comes to performance. The film is sure to open big with Vijay’.

On the whole, NOTA is a routine political drama which the Telugu audience have seen many a time. Vijay Devarakonda leads from the front but the story and proceedings are predictable and do not support him much. However, this film will be a good launch pad.
