Maharshi (2019) Rishi (Mahesh babu) is an extremely talented youngster who has big dreams about his career. In final semester of M.Tech, Rishi gets selected for an MNC, moves to work in USA. In a short span, he becomes the CEO of a company named ‘Origin’. At this point, Rishi comes to know about the situation of his college mate and close friend Ravi (Allari Naresh) who secretly sacrificed his career for Rishi in past. Rishi wants to help Ravi, joins his fight against an Oil corporation giant in a rural Godavari region. Rest of the film is about how Rishi fights against the problems faced by the villagers..

Maharshi' is largely a bland film that has a superficial take on the issues it takes up. Dry dialogues and melodramatic conversations should have been avoided. The 'Srimanthudu' favour is palpable. Mahesh Babu's acting credentials are a saving grace..

All in all, Maharshi has its moments here and there, but fails to maintain the momentum for a longer stretches. It is good in parts, but falls short of expectations on a whole. Mahesh doing better films with similar themes also turns out to be a hindrance.

All in all, Maharshi is a film with genuine content in second half and nothing much in first half. Vamshi provided a long canvas for Mahesh to excel the actor in himself. Apparently, one might see Maharshi as a routine fare like Bharat Ane Nenu or Srimant.
