Falaknuma Das (2019) Das (Vishwak Sen) is from Falaknuma and he lives with his mother and sister. For some strange reason, he gets attracted to gangs and rowdies and forms a gang of his own when he was a school kid. His first major fight happens in a college. Though it turns into disaster, Das finds first love (Prasanthi). This love doesn’t last long and he later falls for Sakhi (Harshita), a German girl in the hope of leaving to Germany and settling there. At the same time, a friend suggests the idea of starting mutton business to the gang. This business lands him in his first major gang war. In a chase, he throws a local made bomb and that leads to police cases. How he comes out from this mess with rival gang who is vowing to kill him and how his childhood friend Joya (Saloni Mishra) gives him support and love is told in rest of the drama..

Vishwak Sen has not paid much attention towards the story & acting, mainly the emotional scenes. Though the first half can be considered okay, second half sounds extremely silly..

Despite some sparks here and there, the film in totality becomes a pale version of the original Malayalam movie and the set-up is completely unfamiliar and looks unrealistic. After a time, you don’t see anything but people drinking (Mandu) and eating.

The film narrates the rise, fall and rise of a small-time rowdy named Das. The story is wafer-thin, the film presents some solid moments but many scenes are monotonous. Neat performances are a plus but there are also some over-indulgences..

Based on Malayalam movie ‘Angamaly Dairies’, ‘Falaknuma Das’ is completely faithful remake but despite getting lingo and milieu right, it misses the soul of the original and many sequences in the second half go wrong. The premise of Malayalam movi.

On the whole, Falaknuma Das is an intense and realistic crime drama which has a decent first half. The setup, earthy characters, performances, and realistic narration are big assets. But the second half is a let down as the film is clearly made for the ma.

All in all, Falaknuma Das is expectedly not a thorough brilliant film. It’s the terrifying realistic treatment, neat storytelling, all new casting… beyond all the absolute hard work went behind in production and post production makes it a winner with .
