Dorasani (2019) Set in early 90’s in a village called Jayagiri, the film begins with the present time. After serving the imprisonment for many years, a Naxalite returns to this village from jail in search of Raju, the youngster of this village who saved him long back. Story moves to 90’s. Raju (Anand Deverakonda) who is studying at his grandparents’ village comes to Jayagiri on Dussera holidays to stay with his parents. His family is poor. He writes good poetry. The village landlord’s daughter Devaki (Shivathmika) gets attracted to him as he daily visits her Gadi and watches her from below. She also likes his poetry being a budding poetess herself. Can these two odd pair win their love against the feudal system?.

'Dorasaani' gets its basics right for the most part. Neat performances, striking technical output, and the commendable first half are hits. The slow-moving second half with its attendant cliches and indulgences are misses..

Dorasaani` is a Rustic Period Love Saga also exploring the feudalistic nature of the Telangana society back then. The film takes its own time and is good on emotions driven by Shivathmika`s performance. It has a fairly interesting 1st half and the 2nd hal.

All in all, Dorasani is not an extraordinary film. Though the film has some positives, screenplay and direction played spoilsport. Yet, a decent debut for lead pair.

On the whole, “Dorasaani” can be termed an honest attempt of telling the love story of a rich girl and poor boy in period Telangana cultural and political setup. This has limited appeal but is pretty ordinary film on the whole. Bottom-line: Forbidd.

Dorasaani’ is honest tale of love between a landlord’s daughter and a poor youngster with terrific songs and new milieu. The template tale is told in sincere manner but 90’s backdrop is not convincing at all..

On the whole, Dorasaani is a love story which exposes the caste-based system in the society and how it is affecting the youth. Anand and Shivathmika’s chemistry is superb and realistic scenes are good. But on the flipside, a slow-paced narration and lac.

Dorasani becomes pointless as it brings nothing new to the table. The second half has scope to engage the viewers by building tension, but it is done in a half baked fashion. Even the climax that should have been gut wrenching turns out emotionless and me.
