'Bandobast' wants to be a thriller while taking too many cinematic liberties at will. Had the screenplay been tight, there would have been both thrills and edge-of-the-seat moments. Production values are rich and efficient..

The director finds time to squeeze in some songs into this action mess, which makes it even more lethargic and tedious. There are far too many lengthy scenes that refuse to end. There is no place for crisp and sharp storytelling in Bandobast. Even a stell.

All in all, Bandobast is not the kind of film we expect from the combination of KV Anand, Suriya, Mohanlal and Arya. Although visuals looked grand and rich, lack of potential content and sloppy direction played spoilsport. Suriya’s all efforts go in vai.

On the whole, Bandobast is a political action drama which works strictly in parts. The political angle, action thrills, and performances from Suriya and Mohan Lal are a major boost to the film. But the lengthy runtime, too many cinematic liberties, and bo.

While Arya and Mohanlal's character is very cliched, the visible antagonist characters like Chirag Jani and Boman are monotonous, while Samuthirakani and Prem are totally underutilized. Harris has given the weakest album, and despite great work from Suriy.

All in all, Bandobast is a serious thriller which has a decent first half. Though Suriya, Mohanlal, Arya give impressive performances, lack of depth in the second half followed by a lengthy runtime makes the film a below-average fare..
