Critic Review
Chanakya (2019) Arjun (Gopichand), an undercover RAW spy, knows how to accomplish missions outside the ambit of law.  He is a law unto himself, leaving his superior (Nasser) stunned.   He has another life - that of a bank employee.  Love with Aishwarya (Mehreen Pirzada) happens rather fast.   But all hell breaks loose when his friends aka fellow RAW agents (played by Adarsh Balakrishna, Raja and two others) are kidnapped by Sohail Quereshi (Upen Patel), a notorious and smart terrorist based in Pakistan.  Together with his father Ibrahim (Rajesh Khattar), Sohail is planning to wreck havoc in India and at the G8 Summit in Singapore. Arjun's task is cut out.  Can he rise to the occasion?  .

All in all, “Chanakya” is a spy thriller made in a particular template with a weak screenplay. The villain keeps on saying expect the unexpected, but we don’t get to such novelty here. Bottom-line: Dull and Drab!.

'Chanakya' reminds us why Chanakya should come back alive and file a defamation suit against all those filmmakers who abuse his name for dumb movies. It's a matter of self-respect for him. Ridiculously written, it treats RAW, global terrorism, geopoliti.

Should we make a commercial movie? Or should we make a movie with RAW backdrop? Director Thiru is completely confused among these 2 questions & finally directed the movie Chanakya. Neither did he do justice to the commercial elements now to the RAW backdr.

All the actors including male lead Gopichand have done routinely. There is no appreciative performance from any actor. Other than the cinematography (which is first-rate), no technician has put in the best effort either. Director Thiru’s story and narra.

On the whole, Chanakya is a routine spy thriller which works in a strictly few areas. While the action and Gopichand lead from the front, dull narration and poor screenplay take the film down in no time. Even though the film looks stylish, there is nothin.

Climax scene is so brainless that it looks straight out of a first draft. Pakistani army, international mafia dons and terrorists all look like a bunch of clowns as our protagonist is hardly challenged in executing his mission. The film's fate at the box.

Al in all, Chanakya is another routine spy thriller with few twists here and there. Gopichand played his part efficiently and visuals looked grand. But, all the efforts go in vain because of the poor writing and execution. The director did not get much as.

Chanakya ‘ is another disappointing film for Gopichand. A Bigger canvas film with its silliest execution tests patience. For Few action sequences, good amount of budget has been spent but in vain..
