Shoba Devi is a very proud women who treats her elder daughter in law Aruna like a slave and sends her out of the house for violating her orders. Aruna's sister Jhansi (Radhika) comes back home after completeing her studies. Jhansi comes to know about her sister's problem with Shoba Devi. She wants her sister to go back to her in laws house. Aruna wants her mother in law to improve so that they can lead a happy life together.Jahnsi decides to marry Kalyan Chakravarthy (Rajendra Prasad) who is the younger son of Shoba Devi so that she can enter their house and teach Shoba Devi a lesson. Jhanis understands that Kalyan wants to marry an uneducated village girl. Jhansi goes to the village where Kalyan went and acts like an illiterate Village girl. Kalyan falls in love with her and they both get married. The rest of the story is about how Jhansi teaches a lesson to Shoba Devi and how she improves the relationship between Aruna and Shoba Devi.
