Shiv (Aadil Khan) and Shanti (Sadia) are brought close together thanks to a film’s shooting in the valley. The director wants an authentic Kashmiri couple in the background. They volunteer, start conversing and bored by the various retakes they run away. He’s a budding poet and she’s a nurse at the local hospital. Soon, they marry and even built a house of their own. Everything looks peachy when the black cloud of militancy descends on Kashmir. Slowly, the atmosphere worsens and they are forced to flee to Jammu and live in a refugee camp for the next 30 years, keeping the dream of going back to their old home one day alive in their eyes.
