Arjun (Raja Goutham) is a middle class student who enjoys a good bond with his friends and family. He does not think too much about his future and leads an uncomplicated life. During the wedding of his friend Abbas’s sister, Arjun comes across Roshini (Alisha Being) and falls in love with her.
Roshini is the daughter of the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad (Shayaji Shinde). A terrorist gang plans to attack the International Convention that is going to be held in Hyderabad and the police officials unearth this plot. While escaping from the cops, the terrorists crash into the campus of Basanti College and they decide to take the students as hostages.
As the face off between the police officials and the terrorists continues, Arjun and his friends suffer. The terrorists seek the release of their leader Babar Khan and the Government is forced to obey their demands.
That is when something unexpected happens and the students of Basanti college fight back. What happens next? What is that unexpected thing? That is the story of ‘Basant

but Basanti has it s own speciality. Gautham has truly improved a lot and is very apt for this movie..Alisha has done justice to her part..other roles are too good in their performances. First half is decent but second half is truly impressive. Manisharma s music is very good and BGM is at peaks. Picturisation of songs is though nice, but could ve been better..however..picturisation of VELLAKURA song is mind blowing. Editing is nice..but could ve been better. Some scenes are weak but are covered with an out standing story..screenplay and Direction. The elevation of movie is good and pace is constant.. On the whole, if you love to watch SERIOUS MOVIES...this is the right choice as it s been a long time a movie like Basanti came from TFI. Thumbs up for Basanti.MY RATING is 4.5 out of 5
