Abhi is the story of Ganga Prasad IPS (Mohanlal), a daring officer of the Anti Terrorist Wing of the State Police. Into his small world consisting of wife, Suma (Shobana) and son Abhi enters Swapna(Abhirami) who sees her dream man in him and falls head over heels in love with him, even overlooking the fact that he is married. In the meantime, a group of hard-core terrorists led by Lucifer Munna (Arun Pandiyan) and Janisha (Rasika) wreak havoc at various places. Our hero naturally, clashes with them. Then on there is hot chase, kidnapping, arrests, questioning et al, leading to a climax with lot of action.
