The basic story mainly revolves around the caste and religious issues. Nagarajuna (kasi) is a son of fishers (low caste)and he can sing very well with his flute. Ramyakrishna (Keertana) was an orphan and is brought up by J.V. Somayajulu learns dance from neighbors (Sakshi Rangarao). They fall in love with each other but Ramyakrishna's mother don't like it and creates problems. The rest of the story is about how they unite together. This movie also deals with superstitions at that time.
