The film starts off with the killing of two lovers by Veerabadrayya who is a Rayalaseema factionist and is against love marriages. Giridhar goes to Kurnool, to his sister’s house where he falls in love with their young and beautiful neighbor Kaveri. She too falls in love with Giri. Kaveris father, none other than Veerabadrayya himself comes to know about their affair and as expected resents, so Giri escape with Kaveri. Veerabadrayya sends his goons in their chase. Finally what happens forms the rest of the story.

The first movie to introduce faction genre to telugu audience, though not in a full fledged form, but in the backdrop of a love story.
First movie for mani sharma as a music directions, he composed wonderful music which still reverberates in the hearts of music lovers.
This movie set the box office on fire owing to both the music, story, comedy, sentiment and performances of all the actors. This move gave a big break to Jayaprakash Reddy who has become a overnight star villian of telugu cinema.
