The film begins with Jayanthi (Jayasudha) gives birth to baby boy Chinna (Master Prabhu) in jail. Since Jayanti is a life imprisonment prisoner, she keeps sentry Shantamma (Nirmalamma) as her son's guardian. Papa Rao (Kota Srinivasa Rao) maternal uncle to Jayanthi and his Hari (Srihari) always harasses Jayanti for her property. Krishna (Jagapathi Babu) a chronic bachelor, who hates women because his elder brother Krishna Mohan Rao (Raja) is killed by his lover.
