Vidya is the daughter of a wealthy man whose reputation among the classes is untarnished. She's however a spoilt brat who has had everything spoon fed by her mother. Vidya's step brother, Sundaram, concerned with her behaviour, takes it up with her father, but Vidya and her mother force Sundaram and his wife out of the house. One day a street smart dancer named Pasupathy is employed to teach Vidya the art of music and dance.
