After a long gap 'Action King' Arjun will be seen in a direct Telugu film as the main hero. He will be seen in a new movie 'Rani Ranamma', which will be directed Kodi Ramakrishna. The movie will be made by R.Ramachandra Raju under the banner of Sailaja Productions banner. The movie has been launched recently in Hyderabad in a typical movie lancuh function. Dasari Narayana Rao gave the clap while the producer R.Ramachandra Raju switched on the camera for the 'Muhurthapu' shot. Speaking to the media, the director of the movie Kodi Ramakrishna has said that "The movie will be having all the ingredients that people bound to expect from a Kodi Ramakrishna-Arjun movie. The movie has a very real & natural story that every one will feel it as the story of their own. How a common man turns into a cruel beast because of the society is shown in the movie". He also said that "the movie is an action thriller with a Srilanka backdrop to it. We have remixed the Rani Ranamma song for this movie. The role of Baby Anshu will be a crucial one for this movie along with the roles of lead pair". He also added that "the movie's shooting will be completed by May end and it is being planned for a release during Vijaya Dasami". The hero Arjun has said that he had made debut as hero in the industry with a Telugu movie 'Maa Pallelo Gapaludu' in 1984, which was also been directed by Kodi Rama Krishna. Since then he had done four films under his direction, which all of them proved to be hit. This is a fifth movie with him, and he hopes it follows the trend. He also said that movie would be a sentimental action entertainer with an emotional backdrop to it. Lakshmi Rai has thanked the Kodi Rama Krishna and R.Ramachandra Raju for giving her the opportunity to be a part of this movie.
