According to the latest reports, the celebrations marking 100 years of Indian Cinema which were scheduled to be held in Chennai from September 1st to 3rd are post-poned because of the non-availability of Hon. President Of India, Pranab Mukherjee. The South Indian Film Industry is taking the responsibility of organising these celebrations. Pranab Mukherjee, the Hon. President of India, is invited to be the chief guest to the celebrations. The reports also suggest that they are likely to happen on 25, 26 and 27 September in Chennai. The official announcement from South Indian Film Industry is expected to be made soon.

The four industries viz., Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam industries have come together and designed a gamut of events and gala celebrations in which the chief ministers of all the four states were to be present, apart from superstars of past and present, for the three-day event. All the works(shootings & everything) are reported to be shut for one week in order to prepare this prestigious celebrations.
