Apoorva Lakhia, the director of soon to be released & highly anticipated movie in Bollywood as well as Tollywood 'Zanjeer' has had bold claims about why Ram Charan has been chosen for this prestegious remake of original 'Zanjeer' of 1970s. He said, he couldn't envisage any actor in Bollywood to play the role of an angry young police officer and during that time, somehow, he happened to see the 'Magadheera' movie of Ram Charan. He continued to say that he was blown away by the performance of Ram Charan in that movie and then itself decided if at all he remakes 'Zanjeer' it will be Ram Charan, the lead role in it.

The movie is all ready to storm the two biggest film industries in India, Bollywood & Tollywood, on Friday. The movie will be released in Telugu as 'Thoofan' with a single change in the cast from Hindi version, Sri Hari is replaced Sanjay Dutt for the role of 'Share Khan' in the movie. The movie has the biggest names in the industry with Priyanka Chopra being the female lead, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, Tanikella Bharani and Sri Hari playing some crucial roles in the movie.
