Ajay Devgn, known for his hard hitting performances in films like Zakhm, Omkara, Gangajal and Singham returns this year with his solo release – Drishyam. The first look and trailer of this upcoming thriller has left the audiences intrigued and riveted, heightening anticipation for its July 31strelease.
Essaying the role of 4th fail Vijay Salgaonkar, Ajay will be seen delivering an intense, power packed performance in his all new common man avatar that is being appreciated far and wide. Tabu, known for her performance driven roles adds more power to the film as IG Meera Deshmukh, a tough female top cop. In the year where content led cinema is driving viewers to the cinema hall, Drishyam with its promise of a gripping narrative and superlative performances is one of the most awaited movies of the year.
The makers launched the trailer in a unique way by introducing an alluring game on social media, which has a few levels where the gamer needs to find clues and answers which eventually leads to Vijay’s journey in the film. Unfolding the game’s mystery helped the gamer to get an insight on the trailer way before it’s launch!
This out-of-the-box concept of a trailer launch was widely acclaimed by the audience and it went viral in no time. Receiving a phenomenal 1 million hits in a span of 24 hrs, the trailer further went on to score a million hits and counting across other social media platforms too

The movie will witness Ajay Devgn going back to his earlier stellar and gripping work in movies such as Apharan, Gangajaal, Zakhm amongst others, Drishyam sees Devgn’s subtle yet powerful acting chops to the maximum with a role that’s etched in various shades of the raw human personality!
When quizzed Ajay Devgn about why he chose to do this film he said,“Drishyam is not a No-brainer. I did Drishyam as after a long time I heard a great script, hats off to the original writer for having written it the way he has. It's the first time I heard a script and immediately said, `Okay done.' It took me 30 seconds to decide whether I should do a Zakhm or not, as in 30 seconds, Bhatt sahab narrated me the idea and I could see the emotion on his face and I said, `Done. I am doing it.' I have not heard anything like that. That's what I found in Drishyam after a long time, the script, the sensibilities, and the intelligence and keeping all that in mind, it is completely an edge of-the-seat commercial thriller."

The opening ceremony of the celebrated Kala Ghodqa Arts Festival saw Mr. Abhishek Bachhan graciously lighting the diya as he paid tribute to the city's most loved week, the week of Kala Ghoda!
Mr. Amitabh Bachhan was scheduled to attend the event but unfortunately he hurt himself while working out the very same morning and therefore, Abhishek said he was privileged and blessed to step into his father's shoes and fulfil his promise.
The highlight of the inauguration was the fact that Madhuri Dixit Nene's sons, Rayaan and Arin Nene took the stage by storm as they did a mesmerizing Tabla act with their guru. Their proud father, Sriram nene was seen in the audience gleaming away and taking images.
Another highlight was the fact that Shiamak Davar trained differently abled children for a soul stirring and heart moving performance to a silent version of the National Anthem in sign language and the melody of the movie Black. 70 dancers then came onstage and lit up the entire maidan with kathak, bharat natyam, sufi jazz, contemporary performances all at one time!
Also seen were festival director the elegant Brinda Miller and the entertining Manek Davar who are the spearheads behind Kala Ghoda year after year.
Celebs spotted were Shreyas Talpade, Arzan Khambatta, Akshara Hassan, Ashley Lobo, Sriram Nene and many more!

The laughter machine Kapil Sharma and the debonair Director Karan Johar hosted the 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards 2014, held at yrf Studios, Andheri. Together they provided an effervescent camaraderie and sparkling wit that kept the audience spellbound.
The stars decked up in their best ensembles sashayed down the red carpet to witness the much awaited awards ceremony. This time, our rotary of performers included Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. Salman danced to a medley of his 2014 hits as did Ranbir, who boogyed to hits like Badamteez dil, Balampichkari and Dilliwali girlfriend. Varun paid homage to the disco hits down the years like yesteryears’ rage Disco dancer to today’s Saturday Saturday. Alia danced to a medley of hits from 2014 Queen’s Hungama ho gaya to Drama queen hai from Hasee Toh Phasee. Arjun Kapoor did the same for songs like India wale from Happy New Year and Tharki chokro, PK. Shraddha swung to her hits like Dance basanti and Teri galliyan.
All this razzmatazz was juxtaposed by the opening of winner envelopes and handing over of the Black Lady to the jubilant winners. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to our first cover girl, Kamini Kaushal, for her pioneering as well as long-lasting contribution to Indian Cinema.
The 60th Britannia Filmfare Awards 2014 will be telecast exclusively on Sony Entertainment Television on February 8, 2015 from 8 pm onwards.
